Inelastic neutron scattering data on RuO2 polycrystalline 300 K, ARCS.
Magnetic skyrmion crystals are traditionally associated with non-centrosymmetric crystal structures; however, it has been demonstrated that skyrmion crystals can be stabilized by competing interactions in centrosymmetric crystals. To understand and optimize the physical responses associated with topologically nontrivial skyrmion textures, it is important to quantify their magnetic interactions by comparing theoretical predictions with spectroscopy data. Here, we present neutron diffraction and spectroscopy data on the centrosymmetric skyrmion material GdRu 2 Si 2 and show that the key spectroscopic features can be explained by magnetic interactions calculated using density functional theory. We further show that the recently proposed 2-q “topological spin stripe” structure yields better agreement with our data than a 1-q helical structure and identify how the magnetic structure evolves with temperature.
This data is for ZrH2 in an Al can it is measured at room temperature. This data was used for the Neutron and Xray scattering school in 2021. It was measured on the ARCS direct geometry spectrometer at the spallation neutron source. The .nxs files are event files that can be read and processed with Mantid. The nxspe files are auto reduced files that can be read with Mantid, Dave, or Mslice. Both types of files are hdf5 and can be read with any tool that reads hdf5.
Triple axis inelastic neutron data collected on the HB3 instrument at 220 K, 260 K, 300K, 350 K, 400 K, 450 K, 500 K.
These sqw files were generated by combining all of the individual crystal angles scans using the HORACE software package (https://pace-neutrons.github.io/Horace/unstable/user_guide/Getting_started.html). The neutron incident energy for both temperatures was 50 meV. The file labeled 50meV_450K_All.sqw is the 450 K data and the file labeled 50meV_RT_All.sqw is for the 300 K data. The crystal was oriented such that HHL is in the scattering plane.
Combined inelastic neutron scattering data from ARCS on the strain glass state of Ni45Co5Mn36.6In13.4 measured at 300 K. Crystal was oriented with HHL in the scattering plane. To obtain a large Q-E volume the crystal was rotated in the beam and the individual angles were combined using the HORACE software package (https://pace-neutrons.github.io/Horace/unstable/user_guide/Getting_started.html).
