This report introduces an optimization approach to finding the best way to orient three reaction wheels on an orbiting spacecraft.
Pointing jitter refers to camera motion occurring during an image exposure of specified duration.
In this paper, we address the atmospheric entry guidance and control problem for Mars precision landing.
It is shown that an adaptive system whose regressor is formed by tap delay-line (TDL) filtering of a multitone sinusoidal signal is representable as a parallel connection of a linear time-invariant (LTI) block and a linear time-varying (LTV) block.
The main contribution of this paper is to put stability requirements for convergence of direct adaptive periodic controllers on equal footing with requirements for indirect adaptive periodic control. The resulting stability conditions are simply that the plant order and delay are known a-priori.
The main contribution of this paper is to put stability requirements for convergence of direct adaptive periodic controllers on equal footing with requirements for indirect adaptive periodic control, as set forth by Lozano. The resulting stability condition is simply that the plant order is known a priori. No other prior plant knowledge is used (e.g., relative degree, high-frequency gain, etc.), and persistent excitation is not required. More importantly, no assumption or knowledge is required as to whether the plant is minimum or nonminimum phase. A numerical example is given to demonstrate the method, and some guidelines are given for improving the adaptive transient response.
In Zero Annihilation Periodic control, the control gains vary periodically in time, in sharp contrast to conventional controllers whose control gains are fixed in time.
This paper develops a computational approach to multivariable frequency domain curve fitting, based on 2-norm minimization.
In this paper, a frequency domain method is developed for plant set estimation.
Information derived from accelerometer readings benefits important engineering and control functions. Report discusses methodology for detection, identification, and analysis of motions within space station. Techniques of vibration and rotation analyses, control theory, statistics, filter theory, and transform methods integrated to form system for generating models and model parameters that characterize total motion of complicated space station, with respect to both control-induced and random mechanical disturbances.
