Double-core nanothread formation from α-furil via a pressure-induced planarization pathway
This work investigates the high-pressure behavior of α-furil. At ∼1.6 GPa α-furil transforms into the previously theorizedtrans-planar conformation before undergoing a Diels–Alder reaction to form chemically homogeneous “double-core” nanothreads.
