The Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter (MRO) will be launched in August 2005 by an Atlas HIB expendable launch vehicle from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station. It will deliver to Mars orbit a payload to conduct remote sensing science observations, identify and characterize sites for future landers, and provide critical telecom/navigation relay capability for follow-on missions.

The primary product of the Space Radar Topography Mission was a topographic database of 80 percent of the earth's land surface. The resulting digital terrain data set provides a significant improvement over currently existing global topography data sets.
The Mars Pathfinder Mission was a great engineering achievement for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) and the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) which built the Pathfinder Spacecraft and the Sojourner Rover. The mechanical design of the mission hardware was critical to the success of the complex entry sequence and landed operations.
An exciting scientific component of the Pathfinder mission is the rover, which will act as a mini-field geologist by providing us with access to samples for chemical analyses and close-up images of the Martian surface, performing active experiments to modify the surface and study the results, and exploring the landing site area.
