Scoping Study: Highly Enriched Uranium Isotopic Assessments Using Gamma Spectroscopy Relative Efficiency Analysis When No Uranium-232 Is Present

This report documents results for a scoping study evaluating the viability of using the higher energy, low yield U-235 gamma emission at 345.9 keV to link low energy U-235 emissions to high energy U-238 emissions (rather than U-232 decay products gamma emissions) for highly enriched uranium isotopic gamma spectroscopy relative efficiency assessments when no or little U-232 is present and the U-235 signal is strong.

Assessment of PHDS Fulcrum40h and Ortec Detective-X High Purity Germanium (HPGe) Detector System Performance

This report provides a summary of measurement results used to compare the performance of the PHDS Fulcrum40h and Ortec Detective-X High Purity Germanium (HPGe) detector systems. Specifically, the measurement data collected was used to assess each detector system for gamma efficiency and resolution, gamma angular response and efficiency for an in-situ surface distribution, neutron efficiency, gamma pulse-pileup response, and gamma to neutron crosstalk.

Gamma spectrometry uranium isotopic analysis rodeo: Summary of GADRAS results

This report summarizes GADRAS methods and gamma spectrometry rodeo uranium isotopic analysis results for high energy resolution H3D M400 cadmium zinc telluride (CZT) and ORTEC Micro Detective high-purity germanium (HPGe) spectra of uranium isotopic standards collected at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) and Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) over a two-year measurement campaign. During the campaign, measurements were performed with the detectors unshielded, side shielded, and collimated. In addition, measurements of the uranium isotopic standards were performed unshielded and shielded.
