Adjustable locking device

Adjustable locking device is used for taking up end play of shaft without displacing shaft radially. Coincidentally threaded collars fastened to one or both ends of shaft are threaded in and out of one another for adjustment of end play. Intrinsic feature is its ability to be locked in any translatory position without axial displacement of shaft.

Tandem steerable running gear

Characteristics of steering assembly for vehicle designed to move large components of space flight vehicles are presented. Design makes it possible to move heavy and bulky items through narrow passageways with tight turns. Typical configuration is illustrated to show dimensions of turning radius and minimum distances involved.
