Environment effects from SRB exhaust effluents: Technique development and preliminary assessment

Techniques to determine the environmental effects from the space shuttle SRB (Solid Rocket Booster) exhaust effluents are used to perform a preliminary climatological assessment. The exhaust effluent chemistry study was performed and the exhaust effluent species were determined. A reasonable exhaust particle size distribution is constructed for use in nozzle analyses and for the deposition model. The preliminary assessment is used to identify problems that are associated with the full-scale assessment; therefore, these preliminary air quality results are used with caution in drawing conclusion regarding the environmental effects of the space shuttle exhaust effluents.

Compendium of meteorological data for the Titan 3C launch in December 1973

All the meteorological data for the 19-hour period before the Titan 3 C (AF-777) launch from Kennedy Space Center at 1857 EST on December 13, 1973, are archived at the Marshall Space Flight Center. These data were collected in support of the NASA rocket exhaust effluent prediction and monitoring program. This data set is unique in that soundings were made with a high temporal resolution. All supporting data, such as synoptic charts and surface data, are also included. This is the first in a series of seven data reports.

Compendium of meteorological data for the Titan 3C (AF-777) launch in May 1975

Meteorological data for the 26-hour period prior to launch are recorded. Data were collected in support of the NASA rocket exhaust effluent prediction and monitoring program. Soundings were made approximately every 2 hours from T-14 hours to T-O; therefore, high temporal resolution is provided. All supporting data, such as synoptic charts and wind tower data, are also included.

Compendium of meteorological data for the ATS-F launch in May 1974

All the meteorological data for the 32-hour period before the ATS-F launch from Kennedy Space Center at 0900 EDT on May 30, 1974, are archived at the Marshall Space Flight Center. These data were collected in support of the NASA rocket exhaust effluent prediction and monitoring program. This data set is unique in that soundings were made hourly from T-12 to T-0 hours, providing high temporal resolution. All supporting data, such as synoptic charts and surface data, are also included. This is the third in a series of seven data reports.

Compendium of meteorological data for the Centaur launch in February 1974

The meteorological data for the 33-hour period prior to the Centaur (Titan III E) launch from Kennedy Space Center at 0948 EDT on February 11, 1974, are archived in this report. These data were collected in support of the NASA rocket exhaust effluent prediction and monitoring program. This is a rather unique data set in that a high temporal resolution of upper air soundings is provided. All supporting data, such as synoptic charts and wind tower data, are also included. This is the second in a series of seven data reports.
