National Ignition Facility 192 beam 3w power sensor
NIF requires additional laser diagnostic capabilities to support existing missions and drive performance of the laser to higher powers and energies. There exists a current gap in laser power data on the facility due to the subset of beamlines that are measurement capable. Additionally, as NIF increases the radiation yield on target experiments, the performance of the current laser diagnostic 3w power sensor system has been steadily decreasing. The degradation of the current system is not well understood and needs to be characterized to facilitate any new system design.
