Soft theorems in matrix theory

We show that the Banks-Fischler-Shenker-Susskind matrix model for M-theory obeys the leading and subleading soft theorems expected from eleven-dimensional supergravity. The subleading soft theorem implies the amplitude is Lorentz symmetric. This is argued for general four point amplitudes, but only for restricted kinematics for five and higher point amplitudes.

Emergence of String Monodromy in Effective Field Theory

We demonstrate that when the field theory Kleiss-Kuijf and Bern-Carrasco-Johansson relations are imposed on one color ordering of general local bi-adjoint scalar effective field theories, the string monodromy relations must be obeyed by the other color ordering. This is a surprising example of an open string world-sheet property appearing in a purely field theoretic context. As part of the derivation, we show that nonlinear relations among the four-point Wilson coefficients arise from imposing linear symmetries on the six-point amplitude via factorization. Gravitational waveforms: A tale of two formalisms

We revisit the quantum-amplitude-based derivation of the gravitational waveform emitted by the scattering of two spinless massive bodies at the third order in Newton’s constant, ℎ ∼ 𝐺 + 𝐺 2 + 𝐺 3 (one-loop level), and correspondingly update its comparison with its classically derived multipolar-post-Minkowskian counterpart. A spurious-pole-free reorganization of the one-loop five-point amplitude substantially simplifies the post-Newtonian expansion. We find complete agreement between the two results up to the fifth order in the small velocity expansion after taking into account three subtle aspects of the amplitude derivation: (1) in agreement with [A. Georgoudis et al., J. High Energy Phys. 03 (2024) 089], the term quadratic in the amplitude in the observable-based formalism [D. A. Kosower et al., J. High Energy Phys. 02 (2019) 137] generates a frame rotation by half the classical scattering angle; (2) the dimensional regularization of the infrared divergences of the amplitude introduces an additional (𝑑 − 4)/(𝑑 − 4) finite term; and (3) zero-frequency gravitons are found to contribute additional terms both at order ℎ ∼ 𝐺 1 and at order ℎ ∼ 𝐺 3 when including disconnected diagrams in the observable-based formalism.

A new framework for higher loop Witten diagrams

The differential representation is a novel formalism for studying boundary correlators in (d + 1)-dimensional anti-de Sitter space. In this letter, we generalize the differential representation beyond tree level using the notion of operator-valued integrals. We use the differential representation to compute three-point bubble and triangle Witten diagrams with external states of conformal dimension ∆ = d. We compare the former to a position space computation.
