Latching-Relay Driver And Continuity Checker
Driving circuit and associated continuity-checking circuit enable use of latching relay switch instead of non-latching relay switch in 120-Vdc power-distribution system. Average power consumed reduced by about 15 W. Latching-relay driver and continuity checker provides automatic turnoff relay when power fails, or alarm indicating discontinuity in turn-off circuit, respectively.
