Surveillance Workload Divinator (SWORD)

The LANL Surveillance Workload Divinator (SWORD) is a high-level decision support tool that reproduces and predicts the annual values for stockpile and production disassembly and inspections (D&I) and rebuilds. SWORD, a spreadsheet-based tool, can be used to assess the surveillance workload under various planning scenarios. Results are shown graphically and updated dynamically for each weapon system or for the entire stockpile. Surveillance workload is calculated from stockpile surveillance guidance1 and from Production and Planning Directive (P&PD) data.

ICBM Transition Tool

The ICBM Transition Tool is an interactive, spreadsheet-based tool for exploring scenarios involving the planned transition of the Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) force from the Minute Man III (MMIII) to the Sentinel missile, including the refurbishment of missile silos. The transition includes the fielding of the W87-1 warhead, retirement of the W78 warhead, and impacts to the availability of components for reuse.

Analytics Supporting Stockpile and Enterprise Planning [Slides]

A robust and growing modeling effort supports Los Alamos weapons leadership as well as NNSA (NA18, NA12, NA19) and DoD (DASD-NM, USSTRATCOM). Current work are valuable to several key NNSA working groups supporting strategic planning: Stockpile Stewardship Management Plan (SSMP); Requirements & Planning Document (RPD) analysis; Requirements and Capacity Working Group (RCWG); Production Integration Collaboration Working Group (PICWG); Enterprise Modeling and Analysis Consortium (EMAC); Cost Estimating Analysis Group (CEAG).

Radiation Case Strategic Analysis Tool [Fact Sheet]

The LANL Radiation Case Production Planning Tool is an executive-level decision support tool for planning related to the demand and production of radiation cases. The spreadsheet-based tool includes decision factors for stockpile program demand combined with production and infrastructure planning at Y-12. The tool displays graphical comparisons of supply and demand under different scenarios. The tool is based on NNSA planning documents and process analyses from Y12.

Orientation to NPHR: Scripts for Training

The IAEA is training staff to train member states to use the Nuclear Power Human Resources (NPHR) model, developed at LANL, to examine their human resource plans. Part of the NPHR training involves orienting users to the files used by NPHR, namely the data file and the model files. To assist the IAEA trainers, the scripts in this document were developed for conducting the orientation sections. The scripts are intended to be used as resources for the trainers to develop their ability to deliver the orientation and not as scripts to be read to a training workshop. The scripts are accompanied by video recordings to illustrate what the trainers will show participants during the orientation.
