10-W 4.6-μm quantum cascade lasers

Ridge quantum-cascade lasers emitting near 4.6 μm are fabricated and their power and spectral characteristics are studied. Stable pulsed lasing with an output optical power exceeding 10 W (more than 5 W from one facet) at room temperature is demonstrated. (paper)

High-power (>1 W) room-temperature quantum-cascade lasers for the long-wavelength IR region

Ridge quantum-cascade lasers emitting at a wavelength near 8 μm are fabricated and studied. Lasing at room temperature with a maximum output peak power exceeding 1 W from one facet is demonstrated. (paper)
