Connecting the nanoseed defect structure and crystallinity with resulting nanoparticle products
4 Au NC seeds bound by (111) planes but having different morphologies and defect structures were overgrown under identical conditions. Similar branched NCs resulted in all cases, emphasizing the critical role of the (111) plane itself.
