The applications developmental data system

This paper describes a research and development system under development at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) for processing Landsat-4 Thematic Mapper (TM) data at high throughput rates. This system, called the Applications Developmental Data System (ADDS) is being developed with 2 objectives. First, during the initial year of Landsat-4 operations, ADDS provides an essential link in processing the TM images for image data quality assessment. The second objective is to demonstrate the ability to produce a radiometrically corrected TM image in 8 minutes and a geometrically correct image in 16 minutes. The processing rates currently achieved are presented.

AUTOTEST - Fully automated testing of spacecraft and experiments

AUTOTEST is a large scale real-time computer program designed to automatically test spacecraft and experiments. Resident portions of the program collect and store incoming real-time data and process test control instructions which control experiment turn-on, select tests to be performed, and select data to be displayed.

Convergence of step-by-step methods for non-linear integro-differential equations.

The theory of consistent step-by-step methods for solving Volterra integral equations is extended to nonsingular Volterra integro-differential equations. It is shown that standard step-by-step algorithms for these more general equations are convergent. Several numerical examples are included.
