The Digital Information Platform (DIP) REST API guidance document instructs users how to collaborate with DIP and provide information necessary for sub-project success and fruitful partnership collaboration during data exchange.
This workshop will cover DIP architecture and data integration services. Participants will get a look at how the DIP architecture is set-up as well as how data integration services are planned to be hosted on the platform. The DIP architecture review is intended to cover how DIP was envisioned and how DIP is being developed to address data needs across the industry. Participants will have a chance to provide feedback on the DIP architecture and gain insight into how one might interface with the DIP to send or receive data. The data integration services portion is intended to cover DIP’s technical approach to data integration. As an example implementation, there will be a first look at possible data fusion on the platform, including utilizing NASA’s Fuser, and tailoring for industry data consumers. Descriptions, at a high-level, of input to and output of the Fuser will also be discussed.
The third DIP workshop’s topic is DIP for Flight Operators and Consumers. Participants will receive insight the consumer onboarding process and steps to take to consume from the platform. Showcase demos will be provided covering data integration services, data analytics using ML/AI technologies, and Collaborative Digital Decision Reroute (CDDR) capabilities. More details on service performance metrics will be discussed as well as updates on the technical development plan and schedule. Participants interested in consuming DIP services are highly encouraged to attend this workshop and provide feedback.
The DIP sub-project of NASA's ATM-X project will be participating in a technical interchange meeting with United Airlines to discuss research goals and objectives for FY23 and beyond.
The Digital Information Sub-project will hold a Technical Interchange Meeting (TIM) with JetBlue Airways to discuss potential collaboration opportunities as well as discuss upcoming NASA-led demonstrations. This interchange meeting will solicit feedback from JetBlue for consideration of the sub-project in upcoming development and to encourage future participation and collaboration.
The Digital Information Sub-project will hold a Technical Interchange Meeting (TIM) with Delta Airlines to discuss potential collaboration opportunities as well as discuss upcoming NASA-led demonstrations. This interchange meeting will solicit feedback from Delta for consideration of the sub-project in upcoming development and to encourage future participation and collaboration. Additionally, Delta will provide insight into airline operations to allow NASA to learn more about airline operations.
In order to accelerate the digital transformation of airspace operations, a foundational framework and infrastructure for providing sustainable, data-driven, and cohesive decision-making digital services for both traditional and emergent air vehicles is being developed. The reference implementation of Digital Information Platform builds an ecosystem for the aviation community by providing access to a secure and trusted source of aviation data and services. Several key features and services have been implemented to enable secure data sharing, communication, and service registration on the Platform. The technical approach used to implement these features is presented here. NASA-developed integrated aviation data and machine learning based prediction services to optimize airspace operations are available on the Platform. These services are being evaluated in an operational environment by flight operators and the real-world benefits are being captured. The Platform fosters collaboration among industry and researchers to develop complex aviation services and the aim is to make it publicly accessible for consumption by the aviation community.
The Digital Information Sub-project will hold a virtual information session regarding the Announcement for Collaborative Opportunity being released to solicit feedback and potential partnership opportunities. The objectives of this information session are to inform the service provider (SP) community of the DIP sub-project and provide insight into sub-project formulation and information about the sub-project they would not get without personal engagement.
