We present the results of X-ray observations of GX301-2 with instruments aboard the ASCA and RXTE spacecraft, as well as analysis of archival data from BATSE/CGRO and the All-Sky Monitor on RXTE.
In recent years, astronomers have focused their attention upon the near-Earth asteroids (NEAs), which are small (less than 10km), generally rocky solar-system bodies with orbits approaching Earth.

The detection of extra-solar planets around stars like the Sun remains a unfulfilled goal of astronomy.
This oral presentation describes the Astrometric Imaging Telescope as a space-based observatory designed to detect and study planetary systems and circumstellar material around hundreds of nearby stars.
An end-to-end modelling program for an astrometric telescope employing a Ronchi ruling has been developed. The program models the aberrated images formed anywhere in the field-of-view. It then determines apparent centroids by simulating the motion of a Ronchi ruling across the field. Photo-electron statistics are included. A 6-term plate-constant model is used to determine the apparent motion of a target star within a reference frame as the object is re-observed through both ideal and perturbed optics. The modelling code is accurate at the submicroarcsecond level. optics. The modelling code is accurate at the submicroarcsecond level.
we use low-resolution, broadband optical spectroscopy and high-resolution X-ray imaging to continue the study of X-ray sources in a portion of the Orion star-formation region about 1 degree south of the Trapezium.

The Astrometric Imaging Telescope, an orbiting 1.5 m low-distortion Ritchey-Chretien, will use a large format CCD to record star trails as the CCD is dragged across the image plane.
We report the detection of soft (0.2-2.5 keV) X-ray emission from several known cluster X-ray sources using the low energy detectors of the HEAO 1 A-2 experiment. Soft X-ray emission was observed from five clusters - the Centaurus cluster, Abell 2147, SC 1329-314, Abell 2319, and Abell 133. Spectral parameters estimated from the soft X-ray fluxes are inconsistent with those reported at higher energies for the Centaurus cluster, Abell 2147, and SC 1329-314, indicating the presence of more than one spectral component in these clusters. No evidence for more than one component was found for either Abell 2319 or Abell 133. The temperature of Abell 133 is constrained to be less than 2 x 10 to the 7th K, making it the coolest X-ray cluster yet detected.
