In this paper, a low-frequency UHF/VHF radar mission concept is presented and technology challenges to implement it are discussed. This mission concept is currently being studied under a NASA/ESTO instrument incubator program project. The progress of several aspects of the project are discussed.

In this paper, we use a time series of coarse spatial resolution remote sensing data to examine the interannual variability of vegetation biomass and soil moisture over the Amazonian Cerrado.
The objective of this paper is to investigate the complementarity of JERS-1 and ERS-1 data for mapping coastal tropical regions.

In this paper, we report on the use of a semi-empirical algorithm derived from a two layer radar backscatter model for forest canopies.
In this paper, the 100 meter JERS-1 Amazon mosaic image was used in a new classifier to generate a 1 km resolution land cover map.
A method is developed for semi-automated classification of SAR images of the tropical forest.
