Additive manufacturing is a family of processing methods that selectively add material in order to directly create a three-dimensional part directly from a computer model. NASA Langley Research Center is currently investigating electron beam freeform fabrication (EBF3) as a means for making large scale components (>1 m) for a variety of aerospace applications.
