Pulse-Width-to-Analog-Voltage Converter

Peak output voltage varies linearly with input-pulse duration. Circuit converts pulses of varying widths (as from sound-velocity instrumentation or tachometers) into analog voltages. Peak voltage increases in proportion to pulse width. Voltage used to drive an x-y plotter or storage oscilloscope. Pulse-width-to-voltage converter has peak output voltage that varies with duration of input pulses.

Level Sensor for Cryogenic Fluids

Hot wire sensor combined with voltage-comparator circuit monitors liquid level in cryogenic-fluid storage tanks. Sensor circuit adaptable to different liquids and sensors. Constant-current source drives current through sensing probe and fixed resistor. Voltage comparator circuits interpret voltage drops to tell whether probe is immersed in liquid and is current in probe.

Pulse detector

Simple device spots opens and shorts during shock and vibration testing. Device has excellent temperature stability and consistent timing accuracy. Range of detected pulse widths, or time intervals is adjustable.

Circuit monitors powerline interruptions

Simple circuit when combined with pulse detector detects momentary interruptions of 400-cycle ac signal. Circuit has been used during shock and vibration testing of electronic hardware to determine if tests caused interruptions of normal circuit operation.
