A review of the ultraviolet studies of galactic novae
The IUE contribution to studies of galactic novae in quiescence and in outburst are reviewed. A class of novae in which the outburst occurs on an ONeMg white dwarf was identified. Ejected masses, elemental abundances, and ultraviolet light curves for a wide variety of nova outbursts were determined.
