Enabling Composite Processing through the OEM Assembly Line
This project established the fundamentals of electrocoat and structural adhesive bonding of automotive composites to enable composite-to-metal bonding through the automotive OEM assembly line. Results include an understanding of surface preparation and adhesive curing requirements for Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastics (CFRP) to produce strong durable structural composite bonds.
