Electrocatalytic CO 2 reduction to formate by a cobalt phosphino–thiolate complex

The activity of a cobalt phosphino–thiolate complex towards the electrochemical reduction of CO 2 in the presence of H 2 O is observed to produce formate with a selectivity as high as 94%, displaying negligible current degradation over long-term electrolyses.

Electrocatalytic syngas generation with a redox non-innocent cobalt 2-phosphinobenzenethiolate complex
