Self-assembling and self-healing rechargeable Li batteries Final Scientific/Technical Report
PROJECT OBJECTIVE: Investigate formation of lithium halide containing solid electrolyte interface. Characterize the structure and composition of the solid electrolyte interface surface film and morphology of the electrochemically deposited Li. Develop combinations of electrolytes (solvents + salts) and electrolyte additives that produce a highly Li-ion conducting, mechanically robust, and self-healing solid electrolyte interface to suppress Li dendrite formation and improve Coulombic efficiency.
