Trellis Coding of Non-coherent Multiple Symbol Full Response M-ary CPFSK with Modulation Index 1/M

This paper introduces a trellis coded modulation (TCM) scheme for non-coherent multiple full response M-ary CPFSK with modulation index 1/M. A proper branch metric for the trellis decoder is obtained by employing a simple approximation of the modified Bessel function for large signal to noise ratio (SNR). Pairwise error probability of coded sequences is evaluated by applying a linear approximation to the Rician random variable.

Shuttle orbiter Ku-band radar/communications system design evaluation

Tasks performed in an examination and critique of a Ku-band radar communications system for the shuttle orbiter are reported. Topics cover: (1) Ku-band high gain antenna/widebeam horn design evaluation; (2) evaluation of the Ku-band SPA and EA-1 LRU software; (3) system test evaluation; (4) critical design review and development test evaluation; (5) Ku-band bent pipe channel performance evaluation; (6) Ku-band LRU interchangeability analysis; and (7) deliverable test equipment evaluation. Where discrepancies were found, modifications and improvements to the Ku-band system and the associated test procedures are suggested.

Development of a multi-disciplinary ERTS user program in the state of Ohio. Volume 1: Executive summary

The author has identified the following significant results. A current uniform land inventory was derived, in part, from LANDSAT data. The State has the ability to convert processed land information from LANDSAT to Ohio Capability Analysis Program (OCAP). The OCAP is a computer information and mapping system comprised of various programs used to digitally store, analyze, and display land capability information. More accurate processing of LANDSAT data could lead to reasonably accurate, useful land allocations models. It was feasible to use LANDSAT data to investigate minerals, pollution, land use, and resource inventory.
