Long, heavy loads handled safely. Forklift support dolly enables operator to manipulate safely large sections of materials around corners and through narrow aisles and doorways. Dolly has pivoting tandem wheels for maneuverability. Plate laid out lengthwise along truck axis, with one end clamped to forklift and other end clamped to dolly. With this arrangement, minimum width of passage determined by short side of plate rather than by long side.
The results of an experimental study conducted to determine the geometric and radiometric effects of double resampling (bi-resampling) performed on image data in the process of performing map projection transformations are reported.
An apparatus and procedure for evaluating the toxicity of pyrolysis gases from synthetic polymers are described. In each test, four Swiss albino mice are exposed in a 5-liter chamber to the gases from materials pyrolyzed at 700 C. The apparatus is simple in design, easy to clean, inexpensive and gives reproducible results. Data on several fluorine-containing and polyamide polymers are presented.
An isolated vagal sympathetic heart system has been successfully used for the study of the effect of fluorocarbons (FCs) on cardiac performance and in situ enzyme activity. Dichlorodifluoromethane sensitizes this preparation to sympathetic stimulation and to exogenous epinephrine challenge. Partial and complete A-V block and even cardiac arrest have been induced by epinephrine challenge in the FC sensitized heart. Potassium chloride alone restores the rhythmicity but not the normal contractility of the heart in such a situation. Addition of glucose will, however, completely restore the normal function of the heart which is sensitized by dichlorodifluoromethane. The ED 50 values of acetylcholinesterase activity which are used as a measure of relative effectiveness of fluorocarbons are compared with the maximum permissible concentration. Kinetic studies indicate that all the fluorocarbons tested so far are noncompetitive.
