A release mechanism with mechanical redundancy
Abstract
A simple release mechanism is described that achieves high reliability through active mechanical redundancy on the SERT 2 satellite. Principle of operation, design details, and the test program are discussed. Examples of developmental and proposed alternate configurations also are included.
