Unusual cosmic ray intensity decrease of 18 December 1965
Abstract
A higher than normal ratio is reported for the decrease of cosmic ray intensity on 18 December 1965. This value was attributed to the depletion of a low rigidity electron component which also contributes to the counting rate of the IMP 3 detector. Significant difference is observed in the onset times recorded by the IMP 3 detector and Alert neutron monitor.
