Preliminary analysis of STS-3 entry flight data

Abstract

The primary test objectives of STS 3 entry were to gather additional stability and control data at the higher Mach numbers and to expand the autoland operational envelope down to 200 feet. A time history of the entire entry and a list of the significant test conditions are shown. The weight, cg, and inertia characteristics used in the analyses are also shown.
