Improved point-diffraction interferometer used in both real-time visualization and recording of supersonic and transonic flow fields about airfoils and other test bodies in wind tunnels. System relatively insensitive to vibrations, but very sensitive to optical quality of wind-tunnel windows. Designed to handle higher laser powers and to use available light efficiently.
