Making and testing superconductors

Abstract

In these experiments the student will make a superconductor by employing the following techniques: chemical batching, mixing, grinding, heating, pressing, and tempering. The student will be able to verify the superconductivity of a material through testing by using two methods outlined in the procedure. Lastly, the student will be able to reason how superconductors can be used in our society. Experimental equipment and procedures are discussed.
