Algorithmic development in structures technology

Abstract

A wide variety of topics about the types of algorithms in use or in development for the design of gas turbine engines are covered in this report, ranging from the need for better algorithms, to how they should be used. The areas to be addressed in viewgraph format are: why development is needed; how to prioritize it; what is the computing environment; who needs new methods; examples; and the importance of validation.
