Venus 1970 Probe Study

Abstract

Viewgraphs on the Venus '70 probe study are presented. The probe mission objectives were (1) to compliment the Mariner occultation experiment; (2) to construct Venus atmosphere profile; (3) to measure atmosphere properties from clouds to the surface; (4) to measure temperature and pressure for reconstruction of atmosphere; (5) to size an impacting probe for the Venus '70 window; and (6) to observe planetary quarantine.
