Abstract
Sail Quadrants (Beginning): - Previous quadrants that were made used a Mylar material with tape used for seams and edges - Heat seaming with just the sail material was proving to be difficult and ineffective - Seaming with the meltable adhesives had not been adequately tested for use as an option Sail Quadrants (Ending): - Experimenting with meltable adhesives proved they were viable to be used in sail creation adhesives proved they were viable - Created 6 full size quadrants (2 Kapton and 4 PEN) using the new seaming methods - Created a detailed procedure defining the process for sail quadrant creation from initial material set up to final rolling onto a spool - Quadrants were used for direct comparison of weight and volume between a Kapton or PEN based sail
