Keys to Subcontracting Space Hardware with JPL

Abstract

The Jet Propulsion Laboratory’s (JPL), process of subcontracting space systems and hardware with suppliers varies somewhat from the industry-standard supply chain process. This paper is an overview of the contracting process with JPL, a division of the California Institute of Technology (Caltech), in Pasadena, CA. The goal of this paper is to present and clarify the JPL way of subcontracting in order to help both current and potential suppliers understand the JPL nuances and ease their process of contracting with JPL.
