The Origin of Matter (Final Scientific Report)
Abstract
The research of this project was concerned with the matter content of the universe. The first topic we studied was the amount of CP violation in kaon decays into two pions; with a new analysis we decreased the theoretical uncertainty by more than an order of magnitude. This constitutes a milestone in our understanding of the matter-antimatter asymmetry among the known standard-model particles. Furthermore, we studied the energy scale dependence of the self-interactions of spinless dark matter for the first time. This allows to study the consistency of theoretical models for dark matter, and is an important ingredient in the interpretation of various dark matter experiments.
