Materials Data on UInPt by Materials Project
Abstract
UPtIn crystallizes in the orthorhombic Amm2 space group. The structure is three-dimensional. there are two inequivalent U sites. In the first U site, U is bonded in a 5-coordinate geometry to five Pt and six In atoms. There are four shorter (3.04 Å) and one longer (3.11 Å) U–Pt bond lengths. There are two shorter (3.23 Å) and four longer (3.41 Å) U–In bond lengths. In the second U site, U is bonded in a 5-coordinate geometry to five Pt and six In atoms. There are a spread of U–Pt bond distances ranging from 3.04–3.08 Å. There are a spread of U–In bond distances ranging from 3.23–3.41 Å. There are two inequivalent Pt sites. In the first Pt site, Pt is bonded in a 9-coordinate geometry to six U and three In atoms. There are one shorter (2.82 Å) and two longer (2.83 Å) Pt–In bond lengths. In the second Pt site, Pt is bonded in a 9-coordinate geometry to three U and six In atoms. There are two shorter (2.78 Å) and four longer (2.79 Å) Pt–In bond lengths. There are two inequivalent In sites. In the first In site, In is bonded in a 4-coordinate geometry to six U and four Pt atoms. In the second In site, In is bonded in a 4-coordinate geometry to six U and four Pt atoms.
