Materials Data on CeMnIn by Materials Project
Abstract
CeMnIn crystallizes in the orthorhombic Amm2 space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Ce is bonded to two equivalent Ce, six equivalent Mn, and six equivalent In atoms to form a mixture of distorted face, edge, and corner-sharing CeCe2Mn6In6 cuboctahedra. Both Ce–Ce bond lengths are 3.33 Å. There are four shorter (3.29 Å) and two longer (3.30 Å) Ce–Mn bond lengths. There are two shorter (3.29 Å) and four longer (3.30 Å) Ce–In bond lengths. Mn is bonded in a 3-coordinate geometry to six equivalent Ce, two equivalent Mn, and three equivalent In atoms. Both Mn–Mn bond lengths are 3.33 Å. All Mn–In bond lengths are 2.84 Å. In is bonded in a 3-coordinate geometry to six equivalent Ce, three equivalent Mn, and two equivalent In atoms. Both In–In bond lengths are 3.33 Å.
