Materials Data on SrCuO2 by Materials Project
Abstract
SrCuO2 crystallizes in the monoclinic Pm space group. The structure is two-dimensional and consists of one SrCuO2 sheet oriented in the (0, 1, 0) direction. Sr2+ is bonded in a trigonal planar geometry to three O2- atoms. There are a spread of Sr–O bond distances ranging from 2.26–2.38 Å. Cu2+ is bonded in a linear geometry to two O2- atoms. There is one shorter (1.71 Å) and one longer (1.77 Å) Cu–O bond length. There are two inequivalent O2- sites. In the first O2- site, O2- is bonded in a linear geometry to one Sr2+ and one Cu2+ atom. In the second O2- site, O2- is bonded in a trigonal planar geometry to two equivalent Sr2+ and one Cu2+ atom.
