Materials Data on La4Sb2Pb by Materials Project
Abstract
La4PbSb2 crystallizes in the tetragonal I-42d space group. The structure is three-dimensional. La is bonded in a 6-coordinate geometry to two equivalent Pb and four equivalent Sb atoms. There are one shorter (3.28 Å) and one longer (3.52 Å) La–Pb bond lengths. There are a spread of La–Sb bond distances ranging from 3.25–3.52 Å. Pb is bonded to eight equivalent La atoms to form distorted PbLa8 hexagonal bipyramids that share corners with eight equivalent SbLa8 hexagonal bipyramids, edges with four equivalent PbLa8 hexagonal bipyramids, and faces with eight equivalent SbLa8 hexagonal bipyramids.
