Materials Data on Nd(PPt)2 by Materials Project
Abstract
Nd(PtP)2 crystallizes in the tetragonal I4/mmm space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Nd2+ is bonded in a 8-coordinate geometry to eight Pt2- atoms. There are four shorter (3.24 Å) and four longer (3.31 Å) Nd–Pt bond lengths. There are two inequivalent Pt2- sites. In the first Pt2- site, Pt2- is bonded in a 5-coordinate geometry to four equivalent Nd2+ and five P1+ atoms. There are one shorter (2.39 Å) and four longer (2.42 Å) Pt–P bond lengths. In the second Pt2- site, Pt2- is bonded in a 12-coordinate geometry to four equivalent Nd2+ and four equivalent P1+ atoms. All Pt–P bond lengths are 2.54 Å. There are two inequivalent P1+ sites. In the first P1+ site, P1+ is bonded in a 5-coordinate geometry to five Pt2- atoms. In the second P1+ site, P1+ is bonded to four equivalent Pt2- atoms to form a mixture of distorted edge and corner-sharing PPt4 tetrahedra.
