Materials Data on Lu3Hg by Materials Project
Abstract
Lu3Hg is Uranium Silicide structured and crystallizes in the cubic Pm-3m space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Lu is bonded to eight equivalent Lu and four equivalent Hg atoms to form distorted LuLu8Hg4 cuboctahedra that share corners with twelve equivalent LuLu8Hg4 cuboctahedra, edges with eight equivalent HgLu12 cuboctahedra, edges with sixteen equivalent LuLu8Hg4 cuboctahedra, faces with four equivalent HgLu12 cuboctahedra, and faces with fourteen equivalent LuLu8Hg4 cuboctahedra. All Lu–Lu bond lengths are 3.33 Å. All Lu–Hg bond lengths are 3.33 Å. Hg is bonded to twelve equivalent Lu atoms to form HgLu12 cuboctahedra that share corners with twelve equivalent HgLu12 cuboctahedra, edges with twenty-four equivalent LuLu8Hg4 cuboctahedra, faces with six equivalent HgLu12 cuboctahedra, and faces with twelve equivalent LuLu8Hg4 cuboctahedra.
