Materials Data on Sm3Eu by Materials Project
Abstract
EuSm3 is Uranium Silicide structured and crystallizes in the cubic Pm-3m space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Eu is bonded to twelve equivalent Sm atoms to form EuSm12 cuboctahedra that share corners with twelve equivalent EuSm12 cuboctahedra, edges with twenty-four equivalent SmSm8Eu4 cuboctahedra, faces with six equivalent EuSm12 cuboctahedra, and faces with twelve equivalent SmSm8Eu4 cuboctahedra. All Eu–Sm bond lengths are 3.63 Å. Sm is bonded to four equivalent Eu and eight equivalent Sm atoms to form SmSm8Eu4 cuboctahedra that share corners with twelve equivalent SmSm8Eu4 cuboctahedra, edges with eight equivalent EuSm12 cuboctahedra, edges with sixteen equivalent SmSm8Eu4 cuboctahedra, faces with four equivalent EuSm12 cuboctahedra, and faces with fourteen equivalent SmSm8Eu4 cuboctahedra. All Sm–Sm bond lengths are 3.63 Å.
