Materials Data on OsPt(N2Cl3)2 by Materials Project
Abstract
OsPt(N2Cl3)2 crystallizes in the orthorhombic Cmce space group. The structure is one-dimensional and consists of four OsPt(N2Cl3)2 ribbons oriented in the (0, 0, 1) direction. Os4+ is bonded in an octahedral geometry to six Cl1- atoms. There are four shorter (2.32 Å) and two longer (2.34 Å) Os–Cl bond lengths. Pt6+ is bonded in a square co-planar geometry to four equivalent N1- atoms. All Pt–N bond lengths are 1.94 Å. N1- is bonded in a distorted L-shaped geometry to one Pt6+ and one Cl1- atom. The N–Cl bond length is 1.76 Å. There are two inequivalent Cl1- sites. In the first Cl1- site, Cl1- is bonded in a trigonal non-coplanar geometry to one Os4+ and two equivalent N1- atoms. In the second Cl1- site, Cl1- is bonded in a single-bond geometry to one Os4+ atom.
