Fall Protection Introduction: Participant Guide

Abstract

Worker safety is paramount at Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL). According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor and Statistics, an estimated 671 workers are killed and approximately 58,000 injured on the job each year due to fall-related events. Therefore, ensuring that workers are provided with proper training and protection is critical. This module presents examples of activities that require fall protection, fall protection regulations and requirements, key definitions associated with fall protection, and training requirements for employees engaged in activities that require fall protection.
