Abstract

Modern Active Electronically Steerable Array (AESA) antennas offer substantial control over transmit and receive antenna beam forming, including via elemental weighting to achieve a desired tapered aperture. Elemental taper weighting may generally be complex, with both amplitude and phase components. This includes phase-only tapers.
