MrHyDE v.1.0

Abstract

SAND2024-01324O MrHyDE, which stands for Multi-resolution Hybridized Differential Equations, is a general-purpose C++ package for the solution of coupled multiphysics and multiscale systems on massively parallel computing systems. MrHyDE is designed to enable moving beyond forward simulation for multiscale applications which includes optimization, control, uncertainty quantification, and stochastic inversion. The framework provides interfaces to several packages within the Trilinos framework and leverages automatic differentiation to enable adjoint capabilities for large-scale, gradient-based optimization. MrHyDE provides automated multiscale capabilities through a subgrid model interface and multiscale Dirichlet-to-Neumann maps. For extreme-scale applications, MrHyDE provides in situ data-compression algorithms to reduce memory requirements while maintaining performance. MrHyDE is a general-purpose, computational framework for the solution of multiscale and multiphysics applications. It uses a combination of structure-preserving, physics-compatible discretizations, fully implicit methods, multi-resolution schemes, or fully explicit methods. SANDWake3D

SAND2026-23958O SANDWake3D models atmospheric surface layers and turbine wakes using a 3D parabolic RANS solver. This Python-based tool uses an efficient method to simulate wakes, capturing complex wake behaviors such as wind shear, veer, and atmospheric stratification, naturally. It has been calibrated and validated against higher-fidelity large eddy simulations (LES), providing reliable results for wind energy and atmospheric research applications. Goated: goal-oriented tensor decompositions in python

SAND2026-20464O Goated performs goal-oriented tensor decompositions in Python, enabling efficient compression of multi-dimensional simulation data. It extends common tensor decomposition methods by incorporating domain-specific knowledge, such as conservation laws in physics, through a penalty term in the optimization process. This approach improves data compression and modeling accuracy across various applications, including physics simulations, by using specialized algorithms and structure-aware subroutines to accelerate solver performance. NN-OpInf

SAND2026-18878O The NN-OpInf tool is a PyTorch-based approach to operator inference that uses composable, structure-preserving neural networks to represent nonlinear operators. Operator inference is a machine learning method for inferring low-dimensional systems from data and polynomial models for system dynamics. However, many systems do not conform to polynomial structures, which NN-OpInf addresses by parameterizing operators with neural networks.
