Enhancing Dataset Discovery With Knowledge Graph Link Prediction Techniques

● In the evolving landscape of open science, the ability to navigate and discover pertinent datasets is increasingly significant. This primarily hinges on the presence of detailed metadata, delineating the dataset’s content, and potential spheres of application. ● The GES DISC datasets are characterized by science keywords to enable dataset discovery in web search interfaces. ● A problem may arise where a dataset lacks a science keyword that it otherwise should have. ● Machine learning techniques such as link prediction can be used to detect these missing science keywords by estimating the probability of new links forming between dataset and keyword nodes.

Tool reconstructs data input points corresponding to first order output graph

Tool aids in graphic determination of input values for any first order lag system of known gain and time constant where the corresponding output function is displayed graphically and can be described by a first order differential equation. This tool permits a rapid reconstruction of input points.

Wiring Viterbi decoders (splitting deBruijn graphs)

A new Viterbi decoder, capable of decoding convolutional codes with constraint lengths up to 15, is under development for the Deep Space Network (DSN). A key feature of this decoder is a two-level partitioning of the Viterbi state diagram into identical subgraphs. The larger subgraphs correspond to circuit boards, while the smaller subgraphs correspond to Very Large Scale Integration (VLSI) chips. The full decoder is built from identical boards, which in turn are built from identical chips. The resulting system is modular and hierarchical. The decoder is easy to implement, test, and repair because it uses a single VLSI chip design and a single board design. The partitioning is completely general in the sense that an appropriate number of boards or chips may be wired together to implement a Viterbi decoder of any size greater than or equal to the size of the module.

View graphs for GSFC Colloquium on OFMspert

Viewgraphs providing an overview of activities concerned with the development and testing of the Operator Function Model (OFM) expert system (OFMspert) are presented. The OFM is a mathematical tool for representing operator interaction with predominantly automated space ground control systems. OFM provides cognitive task analysis and served as the basis for the design of an intelligent operator's associate called OMFspert. An experimental implementation of OFMspert, referred to as Ally, was developed. An empirical evaluation of Ally was conducted to determine the effectiveness of a supervisory control team consisting of a human operator and Ally versus a control team consisting of two human operators. The experiment was carried out in the GT-MSOCC (Georgia Tech MultiSatellite Operations Control Center) domain, a research tool consisting of a high fidelity implementation of the operator interface to a GSFC ground control system. The viewgraphs outline the experimental design, operator performance measures, and preliminary results.
