SAND2025-10103O The Clustering Algorithm for AM Parts Using GSH and (EDT With Autoencoder is a software tool. It uses a clustering algorithm for additive manufacturing (AM) parts using generalized spherical harmonics (GSH) and Euclidean distance transform (EDT) with an autoencoder to quantify material microstructure. The tool offers improved sensitivity to microstructural changes compared to traditional approaches. The tool integrates multiple microstructural properties, such as grain morphology, crystallographic orientation, and material phase information, to provide a comprehensive analysis of material microstructures. It enables constrained inference and learning for hidden Markov models, Bayesian networks, dynamic Bayesian networks, and Markov networks. Conin interfaces with the pgmpy library to specify general probabilistic graphical models with a variety of optimization solvers to support learning and inference. Dirty Word Scanner

SAND2025-09142O Dirty Word Scanner helps prevent the accidental inclusion of sensitive terms by scaning files in repositories to catch "dirty words" before they are committed. While there are existing solutions focused on passwords and API keys, this tool offers additional features tailored to specific security needs. It will function as a standalone tool, incorporating advanced capabilities from similar tools to provide a comprehensive solution. This tool can unpack HDF5 files and examine their contents. It can display image, audio, and visual files to the user and request a manual determination of whether they are safe. It can also detect arbitrary binary files and ask the user to verify that they're safe. The tool enables sophisticated whitelisting of strings and regular expressions for cases where a term is sensitive in certain contexts but not in others. MasQiTT

SAND2025-03471O MasQiTT software is a proof-of-concept code that implements the Secure MQTT protocol. It demonstrates a publish/subscribe model of message passing within a network where the publishers can encrypt messages according to a topic and the subscribers can decrypt those messages. The example code shows an example of deployment of an end-to-end system that includes certificate authority and key management in addition to basic implementation of the protocol. CLDERA-E3SM

SAND2025-03846O CLDERA-E3SM enhances the E3SMv2 model by adding new options such as complete stratospheric volcanic aerosol representation and idealized physics model configuration for the atmosphere component. CLDERA-E3SM also allows for aerosol source emission specification, which is a powerful method for tracking aerosol and its climate impacts in E3SMv2. This new code better represents stratospheric sulfate aerosol and includes modifications such as changes to the default aerosol size distributions and to stratospheric aerosol microphysical treatment, which allows stratospheric sulfate aerosol to grow larger than in the default E3SMv2. New aerosol source tagging can be customized to separate the global emission of select aerosol tracers—such as sulfate, black carbon, and organic carbon aerosol—into a new, user specified list of sources. It also includes idealized simulations of the atmosphere and volcanic aerosol tracers. Prime VI

SAND2025-03757O Prime VI is a distribution-of-disease outbreak model calibration code based on variational inference. It accompanies a publication for submission to Statistics in Medicine journal, and the code will be maintained for open-source use on Sandia's GitLab. The software provides methods for calibrating an epidemiological model to measured case-count data for a multitude of correlated spatial regions. The code solves a Bayesian inverse problem for model calibration where the posterior over-model parameters are approximated through a custom implementation of variational inference. AI Design Assistant

SAND2025-01930O The AI Design Assistant uses ChatGPT to provide a natural language interface to airfoil analysis tools (XFOIL). Most of the code base is glue code, connecting XFOIL (a tool for analyzing airfoils) to the OpenAI interface. Among the more novel features are an airfoil geometry class and methods on how to extract detailed data from XFOIL.
