Developing a GUI for the Robotic Test Stand

The introduction of this poster explains the technology behind DUNE’s far and near detectors and how passing neutrinos generate electrons that drift into a wire grid. I then explain how 3 ASICs manage signals received from electron interception. Next, the poster states how COLDATA chips are undergoing quality control by a Robotic Test Stand using a state machine. I further explained how earlier tests were done via a command line script and the necessity to implement a user-friendly Graphical User Interface with new features a command line can’t implement. For the implementation section, tools and methods for implementation are listed such as Python, tkinter, and GitHub as well as how multithreading and queue implementation was necessary for GUI functionality. Then, I elaborated on the GUIs new features. Finally, I explain how the GUI will be distributed across multiple institutions and future changes planned for the GUI. Photos of the RTS, far detector cave, diagram of anode assembly plane, COLDATA chips, set up tab, result tab, and legacy command line interface are shown.

Lightning Detection Sensor / Reviewed Data

These data come from the lightning sensor on the barge. The sensor reports every lightning strike within a 300 mile (480km) radius and distinguishes CG-IC strikes and strike polarity. This dataset has been quality controlled.

MLBS Halo scanning Lidar / Reviewed Data / Fixed-point vertical scans

This dataset contains high-frequency vertical velocity recorded by fixed-point vertical scans done by the University of Virginia Halo Streamline scanning lidar at the MLBS station. The quality control is performed according to the algorithm of Goring & Nikora (2002).

WREF Halo Streamline scanning lidar / Derived data / RHI

This dataset contains streamwise velocity retrieved from the Range Height Indicator (RHI) scans done by the UC Davis scanning Lidar. The quality control of the radial wind speed is performed following the algorithm of Beck & Kuhn (2017). Instantaneous realizations characterized by wind misalignment greater than 60 degrees (based on the closest VAD scan in time) are discarded.

Tree Tops Site - Halo Streamline Scanning Lidar High-Frequency Wind Profile / Derived data

This dataset contains wind profiles retrieved from 6-beam Velocity Azimuth Display (VAD) scans done by a Streamline XR Doppler Lidar operated by Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory and deployed at the Tree Tops site (1.5 km South-West of MLBS site). The wind components (expressed as zonal, meridional and vertical) are retrieved through the algorithm of Paschke et al. (2015). The quality control of the radial wind speed is performed following the algorithm of Foken et al. (2004).

WINDPROF: Merged Best-Estimate Wind Profile Data – Block Island (WFIP3 Campaign)

WINDPROF provides 10-minute wind and turbulence profiles, integrating Doppler lidars, wind profiling radars, and sonic anemometers across Northeast U.S. coastal/offshore sites during the WFIP3 campaign. Key data include wind speed, direction, vertical velocity, and turbulence parameters, with standardized quality control (e.g., instrument-specific thresholds and inter-instrument validation). Profiles are interpolated to a height grid (20 m spacing below 100 m; 30 m above) and include comprehensive uncertainty estimates. The Block Island dataset covers February 2024–September 2025, offering reproducible methods for atmospheric research, model validation, and wind energy studies.

Key data include wind speed, direction, vertical velocity, and turbulence parameters, with standardized quality control (e.g., instrument-specific thresholds and inter-instrument validation). WINDPROF: Merged Best-Estimate Wind Profile Data – Nantucket (WFIP3 Campaign)

WINDPROF provides 10-minute wind and turbulence profiles that integrate scanning Doppler lidars, a profiling lidar, a 915 MHz radar wind profiler, and a sonic anemometer across Northeast U.S. coastal and offshore sites during the WFIP3 campaign. Variables include wind speed, wind direction, vertical velocity, turbulence intensity, and turbulent kinetic energy, each with per-instrument quality control and inter-instrument agreement validation. Profiles are mapped to a standardized height grid – a dedicated near-surface level at the sonic measurement height (5 m AGL), 20 m spacing to 100 m, and 30 m spacing above – and carry component and derived uncertainty estimates. Heights are reported above ground level; the site's ground elevation is stored separately. The Nantucket dataset covers 1 February 2024 – 8 September 2025.
