Gage provides audible signal to facilitate checkout of connector pins

Commercial push gage has been modified to enable rapid, accurate testing of paddle pins in distributors, bullet pins and patch boards. The purpose of the gage is to ensure that the pins will not break electrical contact when they are subjected to a minimum, preset pressure.

Leakage tester for flat conductor cable connector

U-tube containing liquid indicates pressure differences in a leakage tester. This tube, connecting two containers, indicates that the amount of leakage over a set period of time is calculated from the pressure and gas volume.

Improved shielding termination adapter for electrical cable connectors

Termination adapter replaces braid ring and ensures permanent attachment and grounding of sheath wires. The inner ferrule of the termination is slipped inside the exposed ends of the sheath wires and the outer ferrule is placed over the wires and crimped in place to secure the wires for grounding.

Heart catheter cable and connector

Ultraminiature catheter cables that are stiff enough for intravenous insertion yet flexible at the tip, sterilizable, and economical are fabricated entirely from commercially available parts. Assembly includes air passageway for reference pressures and coaxial cable for transmission of signals from the tip of catheter.

Materials investigation and tests for the development of space compatible electrical connectors

A molding study of compounds based on copolymers of highly fluorinated olefins and of flame retardant silicone is reported. Both single cavity and four cavity molds having size 22 and 24 holes with three webs in each hole were used. Also covered are dielectric strength, arc resistance, Bashore rebound, and maintenance aging tests on the various materials that have been successfully molded.

Methods for testing high voltage connectors in vacuum, measurements of thermal stresses in encapsulated assemblies, and measurement of dielectric strength of electrodes in encapsulants versus radius of curvature

Internal embedment stress measurements were performed, using tiny ferrite core transformers, whose voltage output was calibrated versus pressure by the manufacturer. Comparative internal strain measurements were made by attaching conventional strain gages to the same type of resistors and encapsulating these in various potting compounds. Both types of determinations were carried out while temperature cycling from 77 C to -50 C.

Skin-implant multiwire connector

Construction of device utilizing high-purity carbon is biocompatible as well as hygienic, Design allows for easy connections and disconnections in dark, cleaning and maintenance and less snagging of clothing and other articles by device. Guides and magnetic coupling preclude need for locks, screwing, or latching.

Modular ground-wire connector

Chassis-mounted module makes it easy to remove and attach ground wires. With module, more ground connections are made in smaller area and no terminal lugs, lockwashers, or locknuts are required. Device also reduces holes that are punched or drilled in chassis for ground connections.

Isolator/retainer for connectors

Double-ended cap holds mating plugs and receptacle, preventing electrical contact between them when not in use. Cap maintains continuous electrical ground between plug and receptacle protecting against electromagnetic-interference pickup. Device is also useful for isolation of sensitive circuits from each other during storage, transit, or testing.
